Sherryl saw her oncology nurse practitioner on Friday and learned blood tests continue to reflect good response to treatment. Another round of chemotherapy was administered on Friday; Avastin will be included every other week and Zometa will be included once a month. The nurse practitioner told Sherryl she is at no more risk of colds and disease than she was prior to being diagnosed with cancer, so activities need not be as limited as they were a few weeks ago.
Sherryl continues to reduce the amount of pain medication she takes each day, and she continues to have more energy than she had a few weeks ago. Although she experiences some fatigue, she is able to enjoy more waking hours in the day.
The most exciting news of the week is that Sherryl spent a few hours at day care on Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. She kept telling us, "It was so wonderful to be there." The kids enjoyed seeing RaRa, too, and parents are sharing with Sherryl stories they're hearing from their children following RaRa's visit to day care. One little girl kept telling her mommy, "RaRa so funny. Silly RaRa." We're not quite sure what Sherryl did that was so memorable to this little one -- that's the magic of RaRa.
Dear Sherryl,
I was so happy to read you were able to spend time at Day care - I know how important that is to you.
Coupled with your spirit and excellent care I know your road to recovery is well on its way.
As we get ready for Trinity our thoughts are with you and can't wait till next year when you are with us up there.
You continue to take good care of yourself. Your friends and family have been amazing.
Much Love, Janet
